Just a thought:

Saying somebody is “growing up” shouldn’t be an excuse for them to be doing stupid things. /:

I hung out with some friends of mine this evening, and we talked about, well a lot of things! Then just a few minutes ago, while I was sitting here quietly at home, that thought lingered into my mind.

We were talking about how some people “change” when they hit college. I don’t disagree, I know a lot of people who are really different from what they used to be like when we were in high school. But there are particular individuals who’ve done a few things for the past few years during college that weren’t…all that smart. Or things that would be very, very, very unlikely for them to do.

It was mentioned that they could be just “growing up” and it would happen eventually anyway. At first I thought, “okay yeah, I guess so.” But then a while ago, it got me thinking. I don’t think “growing up” means doing things like drinking alcohol or smoking or anything of the sort. I mean, some people start those things at a very early age, while some don’t at all.

Bluntly put, I think “growing up” should mean you don’t get any dumber. /: As bad as that sounds, I dunno, it just makes sense to me.

* * *

Ho hum, just had to put thoughts into writing. Or whatever this is. I tend to forget things like this.
